While Bear Track #8 continues west of its mapped stopping point, it enters Wilderness and is therefore off limits to bikes.

Description

Bear Track starts off innocent enough with some quick ups and downs that will get your spirits high. Don't let this trail fool you—after about a mile its sinister side steps in and becomes a relentless uphill for about three more miles. Some of this is rideable, but tight turns and steep grades will have you pushing in spots. Thankfully there is a reward once you get up to the plateau— spectacular views and tundra riding will have you feeling accomplished and glad you came this far. You can continue on down the Silver Run Plateau Trail #64 if you have a shuttle, or turn around for an out and back with a thrilling downhill. Use caution coming back down, as turns are very tight with very high consequence. Be sure to stop from time to time to take in the views this trail has to offer.
