The road is used by the trail/maintenance crew for Red Lodge Mountain as well as Forest Service vehicles.
Description
Parking found at the lower RLM parking lot. This road is used as the entry point for trails located on Red Lodge Mountain (RLM). Begin by riding past the upper parking lot gate (don't find yourself parked on the wrong side when the Mountain staff finish for the day) straight through the parking lot onto the service road.
Passing the mountain maintenance shop road on your left, continue your climb until you reach a fork at the Palisades Road split adjacent to the top of the Miami Beach Chairlift. Continuing straight will take you to the top of the Palisades Chairlift. The intermediate rating is due to a couple brief, steep climbs along the road.
