Description
This trail loops around Buffalo Lake and is connected to a trail that leads partially across Elizabethtown. There are three entrances to this trail along Commerce Drive. You can park along the side of the road at the first two and at the end of the road there is a parking lot with another entrance. There are a couple parts of this trail that you should not ride through. One is near the start next to a bridge and the next is entering into the woods from the dam. They are both rocky drops that are a few feet. I'm sure if you were very experienced you could ride through though.
I like this trail most out of all the Greenbelt trails. The north side is flat and runs right next to the lake. This comes out at the bottom of the dam which is extremely steep. You can ride along the bottom of the dam or the top. At the end of the dam you can continue around the lake or go onto
Cave Spring Trail. The south side of the lake gets technical with some spots with many roots and rocks. The trail is above the lake on the side of a hill with a narrow track in some places. Along this side there are small stream crossings as well as a natural spring.
There are red markers for riding the trail one direction and yellow markers for riding the trail the other direction.
Currently the entire trail system is about 5.5 miles with the main inner loop being about 2.5-3 miles.
