DuPont State Recreational Forest is a very popular multi-use, bi-directional trail system, so be on the lookout for hikers, horses, and other cyclists. It is normally open in any weather although it can close in extended periods of freeze/thaw during the winter.

Need to Know

The downhill portion from Boundary Trail to Sky Valley Road is unkempt trail and insanely steep. Ride at your own risk.

Description

Guion starts off of Hickory Mountain Road, connects to Rifle after a short distance, to Boundary Trail after another 0.1 mi, and continues onto Sky Valley Road. The trail continues steeply downhill to Sky Valley Road from the intersection with Boundary Trail over a path that looks as if it hasn't been groomed in years. If you are into a challenge, it is possible to ride the steep downhill section, but I would advise against climbing this part since it is a very difficult hike-a-bike.
