Description

The trail starts down the dirt maintenance road on the south side of the Pequops in a westbound direction for a half mile. Turn left onto a primitive road that heads south and climbs about 400 feet. The road wanders through the trees then turns east and crosses a ridge and heads down for about a quarter mile. Nanny Creek is on the right and Elk Canyon is on your left.

Beautiful views from the top of Pequop Rest Area - Paine Basin Access Road (this section of the road up here is a bit rocky but wide and not too bad).

Top of the Pequop Rest Area - Paine Basin Access Road with I-80 in the distance. The condition of the road is fairly decent up here but it gets rutted and rocky further down towards the maintenance road.
