Family Friendly
Very doable for kids aged 10+ and you can extend from Ramme to the town of Hvitsten to buy ice cream and maybe go for a swim half way. Ramme Farm also has a wide range of animals to see.
Dogs must be leashed from April 1 - August 15.
Need to Know
Ramme gård has a wide variety of animals to look at and meet and greet during operating hours. There are also some gardens to visit
here for more information.
Description
At the picnic spot on
Røis - Solberg Connector, take the path leading to the rider's right to start off. Simply follow the mostly downhill trail with blue paint markers and at any intersections follow the path to "Ramme".
Once you reach the farm, I suggest the loop via a small stretch of gravel road as shown on the map here as opposed to turning around and going the same way back up. It makes for both some variation and a much more mellow climb.
During the peak of summer (mid-June to mid-August) I still recommend taking the loop via the gravel road, but take a rider's left after you cross the small river to return to the downhill path a little higher up. The reason for this is there will be a lot of undergrowth on the top half of the return path during this time - so even though the climb is a bit more rough, it will be a lot more comfortable as you won't have stinging nettle and other fun weeds to ride through.
The optional left and returning connector is marked on the map, too.
