Make sure you look ahead before descending. Some trails will take you straight to another parking lot. The trail splits from the optional Northwest Loop at 0.29 mi.

This is a 2.3-mile loop on Lookout Mountain Preserve. Follow trail #308 clockwise or counterclockwise.

Counterclockwise as mapped:
Follow the trail west from the main parking lot. You'll do a quick ascent and then head down hill towards a steep wash at 0.23 miles. (The trail splits from the optional Northwest Loop at 0.29 miles.) Veer left and climb up a steep 2% - 18% hill grade. Caution: Loose rock will make your wheels spin. Be prepared to walk up. The trail becomes very narrow at times.

Once reaching the first lookout spot at 0.59 miles, you'll be able to see the main parking lot. Continue by heading south and curve around to the next lookout spot at 1.03 miles. Start to descend southeast. Continue riding this main trail. Finish by riding west down your last hill into the main parking area.
