This trail is typically accessed from the Green Street Bridge trailhead or via the Bisby Road trailhead. The first half of the trail is moderately rugged doubletrack. When you reach the state trail marker for Nelson Lake / Remsen Falls, stay left continuing to Nicks Lake.

At a second state trail marker for Remsen Falls, stay left and descend a very steep doubletrack with ruts and loose rocks. Only experienced, expert riders should ride this steep section.

At the bottom of the steep grade, the trail turns onto a scenic bridge crossing Nicks Stream. After crossing the bridge, the trail transitions to very rooty, somewhat technical singletrack. Eventually, this somewhat challenging singletrack section reaches another bridge with a view to the Nicks Lake beach and picnic area. From the beach picnic area, follow the Nicks Lake Road access road back to Bisby Road or continue through the campgrounds along the eastern shore up to the Bisby Road Loop.
