Dogs Leashed
Overview
This ride is special because it hits all of the Wendell Falls trails that exist as of May 2018. The trails were built by the local bicycle club TORC and Avid Trails, a professional trail design and build contractor. There are a number of wooden bridges across the small creeks these trails cross.
Need to Know
The Farmhouse at the start/end is a community coffee shop. They serve breakfast items all day, have a lunch menu, and eight beers on tap. The large parking lot at The Farmhouse is the perfect place for riders to park and have a pre-ride fuel-up or post-ride re-fuel and relax break.
Many of the trailheads are near retention ponds.
Description
The Wendell Falls Trails are a work in progress. TORC is working to develop more trails as the neighborhood is expanded. The trails are not ridden much and the tread is still rough.
The trails consist of several separate segments. This Featured Ride hits most of the segments without repeating too much.
Watch out for turns where trails end at a road with no obvious next direction. You might need to refer to the map for guidance. Some gaps between the road and the start of a trail are not obvious across the grass, so you may need to look closely at the treeline to spot the trail.
The trail system has a lot of potential and will be better with more mileage. This route courtesy of
