Overview
A great ride that goes past the Hotel San Cristobal and climbs up to a fantastic view of the old port area of Todos Santos and Palm Beach.
Need to Know
At around 6.8 miles, you'll pop onto the highway. You need to ride against traffic on a pretty wide shoulder for a short distance to mile 7. Look for the trail that drops off the road to the left. There is a memorial headstone right there as well (what can I say).
Description
This ride starts from the Tres Santos development (like the
Sierra Madre ride) and heads out toward the coast. Take the
Rec Trail out to the Hotel San Cristobal and look for a trail that climbs (
Climb Trail) the hill to the south of the hotel (around mile 2.7). Climb up to awesome views of the coast and cove that served as the port.
At around mile 4.2, you'll have a steep, short climb. It's loose but rideable. Stay strong. There's a bit more climbing and then grab a view of Palm Beach to the south. From here, it's time to bomb down the jeep road to the desert floor.
Follow the trail out to the highway at mile 6.8, where you'll have to ride a short section against traffic for 200 yards or so to mile 7. The
Fire Road drops off the highway to your left. Continue on and hook back up with
Rec Trail and the return back to the start.
