After passing through Freedom Park, the trail follows the road on Jameston Dr. and Irby Dr. for 0.4 miles before splitting off again on Westfield Rd.

Description

This trail is the first completed segment of the Sugar Creek Greenway, which is part of the Cross Charlotte Trail (XCLT). The trail starts off of 7th St. near I-277 and ends off of Brandywine Rd. near Park Road Shopping Center. The trail connects to Freedom Park which is one of the most popular and scenic parks in the Charlotte area. Once completed, the Cross Charlotte Trail will connect from the South Carolina border all the way to UNCC for a total of around 30 miles.
