Description

Start at the well-marked sign at the east end of Fontana Village. Upper Lewellyn is pretty tame but Lower Lewellyn is a rock fest and has a section with a pretty big drop-off above the road.

The village typically runs daily hikes on the trail in the afternoon so watch out for hikers. An added side effect is that this trail is relatively well-maintained compared to some of the others.

Combine together with the Gold Branch trail and Old Fontana Forest Road for a longer loop.
