Trail from Stringfellow to Fairfax County Parkway.
Description
This is an easy out-and-back trail that starts from Ellanor Lawrence Park. There is a parking lot near the trailhead. Just be sure to bike only on the Rocky Run
Trail. The other trails in this park are off limits to bikes! Signs are posted.
The trail has some small hills and a few small tree roots to contend with as you meander through a suburban hardwood forest. However, none of this is especially strenuous or technical. Rabbits, foxes, and other wildlife can be spotted if riding early in the morning.
Though its possible to go fast on most of the trail, the trail is shared with joggers, walkers, dogs, kids, etc., so care should be taken since the vegetation can obscure your view around corners. This is especially true if riding later in the day when most folks are out and about. The trail is fairly empty early mornings and weekday mornings.
