Description

Riding the Soapstone Grade Fire Road from west to east, this is an easy fire road with an on and off climb to the California Riding and Hiking Trail intersection after which there is a nice descent to the foot of Soapstone Grade where the trail segment terminates at the Upper Green Valley Fire Trail. The Soapstone Grade downhill section would be rated easy/intermediate because of sections of loose small-to-medium broken rock and sections of partial road rain rutting. Never saw anyone on this section and that made for a quiet and peaceful ride. Note that at the Upper Green Valley Trail intersection I headed left/north towards S1.
