Need to Know
The main trailhead is in the back left corner when you enter the park area in the gravel section of the parking lot behind the roller hockey rink and baseball fields. The trailhead was slightly overgrown but is immediately to the left of the white sign with red lettering that reads “Hartford Crossings Mountain Bike Park”. The trails then proceed to a four-way junction at the bottom of a small hill where you can choose your adventure.
Description
This is a good red-blazed trail for people of all levels. This trail would benefit from more use as it is a bit overgrown in some areas with a few blow downs that need some cleaning up. It’s not going to wear someone down that is in decent shape but it’s an okay ride if you are just looking to get out.
There are some areas that should be rethought as there is an opportunity to make for some better flow on two of the sides where there are existing berms that could be better utilized for pump tracks. This would also help with areas that seem to remain perpetually wet and very muddy. There is some thigh-high grass near the end of the loop that would greatly benefit from a good trimming.
Overall, it’s a nice little trail that could use some re-mapping. It has some intersecting options that can extend the ride and is an okay spot if you’re just looking for a quick ride through the woods. It won’t be a challenge for those with experience but is a good spot for people looking to get started.
