Family Friendly This portion of the Central Hardwoods Scenic Trail is paved and easy for all ages.

Description

This portion of the Central Hardwoods Trail is paved, going from the Sunset trailhead to the Devil's Elbow trailhead and then on to Lake Barkley and the Cumberland Trailhead. This section is relatively flat and easy for anyone to walk, run, or ride on.

The trail follows alongside Highway 68/80 and mainly gives views of fields that grow corn, soybeans, or wheat. It passes alongside the Devil's Elbow boat ramp and fishing platform before going on to the Canton Bridge over Lake Barkley. Once the new bridge is completed, persons will be able to continue on the bridge over Lake Barkley.

Whether wanting an easy walk, run, bike ride, or a trail accessible to those with limited mobility, this section of the Central Hardwoods Trail shouldn't be missed.
