Need to Know
The trail has some shade trees but is not in shade itself; the ride along 23rd doesn't have any shade. Bring plenty of water and sunblock! Saunders Park is heavily shaded but has no amenities otherwise.
Description
This part of the Trinity Trails passes through Saunders Park, which is a linear park along Marine Creek where it passes through the Fort Worth Stockyards. There's street level access via a staircase at 25th and Main, or you can keep going along the trail. The trail through the park has a few minor elevation changes, and the sidewalk along 23rd has two railroad crossings and a few driveways, so they might be less friendly to stroller/skate wheels than the bulk of the Trinity Trails. There's no guardrail along the creek, so keep a hand on your kids and dogs! There's a crushed limestone path between Hogsett Trailhead and the Marine Creek bridge that is equestrian-friendly.
The Trinity Trails system is over 70 miles of trails connecting multiple neighborhoods and parks, encompassing trailheads, water fountains, low water crossings, kayak launches, equestrian and gravel trail segments.
