Overview
A full pull, loop tour of the North Shore Bike Park east of the hotel road around the Kulima Golf Course. Highlights of this ride include the raised boardwalk ladder bridges on
Boardwalk and the challenge of riding along coconut tree stumps on
Tree Tables.
Need to Know
Legend says, when Chuck Norris stayed at Turtle Bay Resort, he mountain biked through this jungle area and all trees moved out of the way due to extreme fear. Therefore the trails were created.
Description
From the hotel, ride down the main road to the only Stop sign. Take a left at the Stop sign which also says Kahuku Trails onto the dirt trail heading toward the ocean. Ride along the beachside until you hit the asphalt golf cart path. Take the golf cart path along the beach to the Turtle Bay Resort Map and continue right.
On the right side of the golf cart path, not obvious is the start of the
Dominator Track (Clubhouse) marked by two small trees with orange paint. Take the Dominator Track. Exit Dominator Track straight ahead onto the
Kahuku Main Trail dirt road ahead. Continue until you come upon two large shipping containers labeled "Turtle Bay."
Behind the containers starts the
Boardwalk track. Take
Boardwalk. Exit
Boardwalk and then cross the road onto
Tree Tables. Exit
Tree Tables and turn left onto the
Kahuku Main Trail dirt road and pass the restrooms on the left, cross the concrete golf cart path onto another dirt road.
To the right going alongside the lake is the
Barracks track. Take the
Barracks track. Exit
Barracks and turn left back onto the road. Head back to the exit of
Tree Tables and pass it to continue on the
Kahuku Main Trail dirt road back to the resort.
