Description
Mountain Express is the region's first purpose-built flow gravity trail and has been optimized for one-way directional riding. The trail does have a couple of sections that require some pedaling, but overall it rewards riders that can keep their momentum throughout the trail.
From the start, you'll gain speed easily as you ride the first two bermed turns and a rock armored section. The trail straightens out to pass over a rock wall. The rock wall is really a thing of beauty and is hard to appreciate how much work went into it because you ride over it so quickly. Once you ride by a narrowish pass just beyond the rock wall, the trail starts to feature a series of fun doubles and bermed turns. This section has a nice natural wall turn as the trail turns back up slightly from the bottom of a large drain. From there, you'll more find a few more doubles until the trail elevation turns back up briefly into an intersection where you can either continue around the lower part of the knobs by taking
Panorama or begin your ascent via
Chairlift up to 'Hub C'.
Like all the trails at Tannery Knobs, you'll see trail qualifiers within the first one hundred yards of each trail. Trail qualifiers give riders a glimpse of what to expect on the respective trail so they know what you are getting yourself into from the start.
