Description

Take the right leg from the trailhead. Slow gradual climb on mostly smooth, loamy singletrack, cutting through a valley. After passing through an open fence, the trail continues in similar fashion for another half-mile.

A full mile in and the grade sharpens significantly as the switchbacks start up. It's a brief but punchy climb to the ridge, made mostly of rock gardens. Soon enough, you reach the ridge and the trail mellows out for the most part. You continue to climb but at a more gradual pace, zigzagging along the ridge.

After the summit, you'll enjoy mostly smooth terrain with a few sections of large but manageable rocks and ruts. This trail is mapped to continue and end just over the next ridge on Nicomodes Gulch Rd. Alternatively, you can take the trail to the left for a quicker return via Limekiln Lower.

Fairly easy trail with only 1 difficult area (the rock garden). Rode a loop by riding Limekiln Lower. Be sure to take your app; poor signage. 10.7mi
