Description

This road starts/ends at Georgia Pass and merges with Parkville Road and Missouri Gulch Trail at the lower end.

Most people are probably "riding" up the road as part of the Great Flume to the Colorado Trail Loop. Most people will probably also walk most of this climb. Much of the climb from the Great Flume is at 20% grade or more and coupled with the 11000+ ft altitude, this would be enough to make most of us into hikers. However, much of the route is filled with loose babyhead rocks, often in a 1-2 foot deep rut in the middle of the road and in the early summer months, a stream runs down the middle of the road making the loose rocks slippery. At places the main road is so washed out that there are parallel paths, which are only slightly better. Even pushing the bike up the road in these circumstances becomes difficult. The road sees use by motos and ATVs, so at least someone is likely to find you if you have a heart attack.

It might be a fun challenge to bounce down the road on the loose babyheads, but from Georgia Pass, why would you forego the chance to descend instead on the CT - Segment 6: Kenosha Pass to Goldhill.
