Description

The Chanterelle Trail is a multi-use trail that is open to ascending bike traffic. From the parking area, it wastes no time starting to climb for a pace that will vary from steady to unpleasant throughout, as the benched trail switchbacks just over 1,000 feet above Lake Whatcom to a nice open viewpoint.

The trail isn't technically challenging but it's quite a bit of effort. The work pays off with more than just the view from the top, if you're up for the turbulent downhill on Brown Pow Trail. Check out the Chantrelle Trail to Brown Pow Loop for a preview of what to expect. Note that bikes are only allowed uphill on this trail and it is a popular hiking trail so you may run into other trail users on busy days.
