A huge park with playgrounds along the way.
Overview
So many trails inside Casa de Campo to choose from but this one is one of my favorite routes. It's amazing that this is so close to the city center of Madrid!
Need to Know
Many different spots to park and start/stop so pick whatever is closest to you. You'll pass some water fountains to drink from or if you need to fill up your Camelbak. There are also a few cafes if you want to grab a coffee or some food.
Description
The first thing to note is that there are a ton of options and trails along the way and you can take the main fire road most of the way, or take some singletrack on the left side of it or sometimes even on the right side. It is fun in either direction, clockwise or counterclockwise.
You don't need to follow this GPS exactly, just go with the flow and after you do this loop a few times you'll find your favorite side trails along the way.
You can literally start anywhere for this loop but if you follow this guide you'll park near the amusement park. Plenty of places to park. Start riding the trail that is next to the road and go under the railroad track bridge. Keep following on the singletrack for many km's until you'll eventually start heading north.
You'll come to a fire road and there is sweet singletrack you can choose on the left and the right, both sides are fun. Follow this and you'll eventually pass by a cafe with bathrooms, water, food, etc. Go across the big parking lot and continue along the trail, picking singletrack on the sides when you can.
It will gradually start turning to the right and you'll see the train tracks. At the first bridge, cross it and take a sharp left. When you get to the wall, take a right and follow the wall for a few km's, again taking some of the fun singletrack trails along the way. Keep on going and you'll want to take a left when you get to the main road/path. Follow the
MTB Project mobile app or GPS track on this part until you meet back up with where you started, now with a big smile on your face.
