Overview

This trail system is fun and flowy for most of the year. But, when snow sets in, it changes the difficulty quite a bit and some of the trails have small margins for error. This is why I ride this trail system in the winter; it is great for training with the steep climbs and with snow partially dangerous downs. This is a route I use to practice and train for climbing on my fat bike.

Description

Start out by heading up the main dirt road into Blodgett Open Space on St. Francis Road then hang a right on what is supposedly called Hummingbird Trail. From there, we finish our first climb and turn right on to Ponderosa Trail and go all the way back down.

Then we follow St. Francis Road back up and take a left to Douglas Fir Trail and another left to Red Squirrel Trail. Then once again back up the main St. Francis Road, hang a left on Douglas Fir Trail and this time follow it all the way to Gambel Oak Trail and go all the way down.

Follow Woodmen Road back to the parking lot and back up one more time all the way to Douglas Fir Trail then take a right on Fenceline Trail. Then head east on Allegheny Drive to the Foothills Connector. Turn left to the end and make a quick connection north to Gambel Oak Trail for the last climb to connect to Douglas Fir Trail then Red Squirrel Trail all the way back to your car. Congratulations you rode every trail halfway worth anything in this entire open space.
