Overview
The best and least washed-out trails of the Sewickley Heights Borough Park combined into one loop that flows well.
Need to Know
Parking is free. There are a few parking spots right where the loop starts, otherwise there is lots of parking further up the hill.
Description
The loop is mostly easy and flowy singletrack through the woods. There is only one short, steep downhill section and a very short, steep uphill section. It can be quite wet and muddy, especially after rain but otherwise it's not very technical.
Riding it counter-clockwise makes more sense, because clockwise direction means going up on
Beaver Dam Path which is quite tough. There are a couple of intersections on this loop which are hard to describe. But with the park map printed out or
MTB Project mobile app, it should be quite easy to figure out where and how to turn correctly in order to stay on this loop.
This park is more or less in the middle of nowhere, the next town is Sewickley a few miles away. Don't expect to meet fellow mountain bikers but there will be dog walkers and sometimes horses.
