Need to Know

Gotta pay the fee and carry your permit for Hollenbeck Canyon Wildlife Area.
It was $4.32 for a 1-day and $25 for the year in 2018. Purchase pass here.

Description

Stay to the right and follow the canyon instead of going left up Hollenbeck Canyon Fire Road. It quickly turns to singletrack with a gentle slope up above the canyon. At the first intersection, you can take the STEEP road to the left and reconnect with Hollenbeck Truck Trail. Better to stay right and quickly cross the creek to get to more singletrack. Stay on the trail near the creek—there is a ton of poison oak in this area. The creek area offers some of the only shade you'll find, but don’t wander off the trail because of a ridiculous amount of poison oak. Stay on the trail and you’ll be fine.
