Family Friendly Pipeline Hub trail, Gortex Gulch, Powderhorn Pit - Introductory Area (Winter-Only) are three great choices for families!

Winter Only - groomed for fat bikes, snowshoes, etc. Some minor water spots during freeze/thaw. This trail is for winter use only when snow covered.

Overview

Ride the Pipeline Hub, West Side singletrack, Powderhorn Pit, and then return back uphill to the Hub, Gortex Gulch, and make a few laps! More trails to come online as equipment and snow conditions allow. Snow bike only at this time, will continue working to open this up as a full summer adventure for 2019 estimated completion.

Need to Know

Parking is good at the Snow Summit Trailhead, or Powderhorn's Caribou and Gun Barrel Lodges. Trail rides in both directions. Self-shuttle from bottom to top is a really fun adventure! During the winter, Caribou Restaurant and Gun Barrel Lodge are open and very accessible for a mid or post-ride stop for food and drinks.

Description

Park at Snow Summit Trailhead. Ride Pipeline Hub Trail (2 miles) in either direction. Ride down, north, the new West Side singletrack (Rock and a Hard Place 2.0) to Powderhorn's Pit area.

Explore the introductory trails in the Pit, then head to Powderhorn's Caribou Restaurant on the mountain for a quick stop or alternate parking area. Ride back up the West Side singletrack to the Pipeline Hub to add some solid vertical feet and a good sweat to your adventure.

As you return to the Snow Summit Trailhead, don't forget to explore Gortex Gulch trail for a quick cool down. 5.5 miles of trail, but this ride is just about 9 miles total as described.

History & Background

Parts of the West Side Singletrack were historic Rock and a Hard Place trail. Some markings are left intentionally as a point of interest.
