Overview

Recently opened at the end of 2018, Mazeppa Park was constructed by the same trail builder as Warrior Creek in Wilkesboro and it shows. The trail was originally intended to be one big loop but an issue with drainage on the west side of the soccer fields and a dilapidated bridge on the Greenway Loop led to it be rerouted to its current configuration. The trail may change in the future when the previous issues get worked out.

Description

Mazeppa Park starts at the trail kiosk in the southeast corner of the main parking lot and travels north on Ridgeline Connector to begin the ride. After about 0.3 miles, the trail splits at the intersection with the GoPro Loop so take the right fork and continue on.

After completing the loop, take a right back on Ridgeline Connector and enjoy the short downhill rhythm section as you make your way past the trail kiosk to the southern portion of the trail system. After the trail comes out of the woods, continue straight across the Greenway Loop and the access road and begin Mazeppa Tech.

Once you reach the end of the trail at the second intersection with the Greenway Loop, you can do an out-and-back to the trail kiosk to conclude your ride or you can take a left on the Greenway Loop and complete a short loop that ends at the start of Ridgeline Connector.
