Overview

This introduction ride to S-Mountain incorporates some singletrack to give you a taste of what's further up the hill. It avoids the Frontside trail, which is the quickest way up S-Mountain, but for some riders might have too much exposure (steep side slope in rocky terrain). Instead, it includes easier singletrack trail, still a good mix of a steady climb and a fun downhill.

Description

From the F Street parking lot, this ride starts with a gravel road, then goes up the relatively mellow Sgt Pepper trail, before climbing further up on the lower portion of Rusty Lung. Turn right onto Spiral Road to the upper trailhead/parking lot.

Continue on Spiral Drive, until Burn Pile crosses the gravel road. Enjoy the view of the town, then turn right onto Burn Pile trail, down the hill. Cross Frontside and continue further down Burn Pile, until it meets Sgt Pepper at the bottom. Turn left onto the trail you went up previously, back onto the gravel road, back to the F Street parking lot.
