Overview
This ride has several strenuous climbs at both ends. It is not particularly exciting, but it it takes you up to the western plateau where there are excellent singletrack trails.
Need to Know
Late spring is the time of year when the weed abatement is done so watch for service vehicles. There are occasionally horses on the trail but most of the time you have the mountain to yourself.
Description
Starting this trail from the Newbury Park side gives you an instant singletrack downhill rush. With the rains comes, some new obstacles where there are splits in the trail, but very few.
Ascending western plateau offers some challenges with loose and sandy spots, but nothing you can't power through. When descending on either side; keep in mind that this is a fire road so you'll find a lot of loose rocky areas. However, there are a few fun singletrack sections along the way.
Lastly finish strong when ascending back up to the Newbury Park. Your challenge is to complete this in 30 minutes. You can do it.
