Description

The trail can be ridden in either direction, but it is probably easiest to ride it counter-clockwise as the northeastern side is steep and rocky. There are parking areas at both ends. It is probably best to park at the finish (northeast side) then ride along the paved Cottonwood Pass Road to the start of Red Hill Road. Also, there are dirt trails that parallel the paved road if you prefer.

The first third of the route is a a steady, rolling climb. After reaching the high point at 2.4 miles, the route begins a steady descent which becomes noticeably steeper around the 4.5-mile point.
