Need to Know

The 301 Trail continues past the former Convent, but this portion of the trail is designated hiking only.

Description

This gravel forest road starts in the outskirts of Poggio and climbs steeply to Pian Grande in the heart of Parco Regionale del Conero. There's a decent view here out across the Adriatic Sea. The road also intersects with Belvedere Nord - 301a here. The forest road continues to the right wrapping its way around the summit of Monte Conero through the dense forest canopy within the park.

The bike portion of this trail ends at the former Convent di San Pietro used by the Camaldolesi religious order. It has now been turned into a nice hotel. The former convent sits on a bluff overlooking the western coast of Italy with the Apennine Mountains down the center of Italy in the background.
