Description
This trail is a fantastic example of of a well-built, expert level trail. Don't let the quality fool you as this trail is no joke and should not even be considered by beginners. In many spots, there are no easy alternative lines, and even walking your bike can be challenging. If you've never ridden the trail before, make sure to scope your lines in advance. As they say, pre-ride, re-ride, freeride. Keep an eye out for bonus features!
The best way to ride this trail is by starting from
Behind the Rocks. You'll start with a steep upward pitch on magnetically grippy granite. The trail will wind upward through mostly easy rock gardens and step ups. When you reach the high point, you turn left and are greeted with your first steep roller. There is a sign letting you know it's ahead, and a clean line to the bottom once you get there. From there, you wind down a little farther through some more steeps to an intersection.
From there, you can either take the cut-off or the scenic route. This entry describes taking the scenic route. At this point, you'll climb upward through some steep technical sections before making a right turn into a very steep section with a mix of very grippy solid granite and very loose decomposed granite. The trail will wind down a little farther, with technical challenges, before getting to a very steep off-camber section with a rock roll in the middle. It continues down steep before mellowing out but becoming a little more technical. Soon after, you pop out on
Road 3510. Strong work! You survived!
