This hilly stretch is one of the most physical parts of the Grande Traversée de Vaucluse, but the singletrack rocks!

Combine this trail with Malaucène to Lafare for the second day of the Grande Traversée de Vaucluse.

Water bodies are rare in this dry region, making Lac du Paty a big recreational attraction. A reservoir originally constructed in the 1700's to feed agriculture and wheat mills, the lake is now popular for swimming and trout fishing. There is a bar and a picnic ground on the north end.

Description

After Lafare, you pass the perched villages of La Roque-Alric and Barroux on your way toward Lake Paty on a series of beautiful singletracks. A nice stretch of road to the Madeleine pass (alt. 448 m) will make you breathe hard. After an amazing passage through ochre lands at the Font de Loup, you ride gently towards Bèdoin, the southern gate of the mythical Mont Ventoux.
