Need to Know

Bears and bees. The swimming hole at the bottom is the social center of Haywood County in the summer so parking may be tough.

Description

Park at Sunburst Campground. Ride up FR97 until it ends. Then ride back. There are several gates, and some will be closed. After each gate, the road gets more overgrown. It's still totally rideable.

Grueling uphill climbs, especially for the first 6-7 miles. Blistering fast downhills and some truly gorgeous scenery. Recommend! 27.1mi — 5h 17m
