Family Friendly Many easy trails that don't take a lot of skill, just need a lot of water and endurance.

The state park officials tend to close the trails to bikes in wet periods. Entrance fee or annual pass required for entrance.

Overview

Description

The trails at Powhatan State Park are mostly degraded doubletrack, requiring a MTB, CX, or robust gravel bike. A few sections are more challenging technically and there are a few small climbs in the western river terraces. There will be sections of forest roads in fields that will boring, but they are good to connect the better sections.

History & Background

There are a few marked and unmarked graves in one of the wooded sections. The park service appears to be working on marking all the graves. Please be considerate of their work and the graves.
