Description

This trail can be accessed by riding up FSR #946 or by continuing straight across FSR #946 at the end of Fork Mountain Trail - Ridge Section. This is now the preferred end to Fork Mtn trail and adds another 4 miles of downhill. The trail starts as a steep bench road and then continues downhill along Desert Branch through dense forest to reach Hwy 39 and the Gauley Ranger Station. There are two reroutes now around the beaver pond areas. Turn right before the beaver pond when riding in the preferred downhill direction.
