Diamondback is a one-way trail (ridden counterclockwise) for mountain bikers. There is also a wet weather closure program in place at Rattlesnake Ridge.

Need to Know

There are no trash cans or bathrooms on site. Please pack out what you pack in. The closest amenities are about 1 mile away at Pinnacle Mountain State Park.

Description

Diamondback starts where Cliffbrake becomes "hiking only" traffic. Right from the start, it has a short, steep climb and then immediately drops back downhill to an access road. From here, the trail follows the rocky two-track road west across the preserve for about 10-15 minutes.

When you come to a four-way intersection, take the road to the left that drops down the steep hill. Immediately after you drop into this road, you'll take an off-camber turn back to the right to get back on singletrack. From here, the trail flows mostly downhill until it meets up with Mountain Boomer. Features include boulder gardens, rocky berms, fast downhill sections, and some tighter singletrack.
