Urban Riding to some of the Dirty South Trails : Baker Creek Trail / Redbud Crest / Victor Ashe / Burnett Ridge Trail / Imeries / Flow / Will Skelton Greenway / Whaley Trail / West Perimeter - Climbing some flowing trails / Over a flyover / down some rocks / small Rooty rocky ridges of Meads Quarry / some scenic greenways / south waterfront views

Need to Know

Parking at Trailhead across the street in the gravel / grass lot. Careful when crossing all roads as they are rural. Restrooms and at Meads Quarry. YeeHaw brewing has a beer truck at Meads Quarry.

Description

Trailhead Beer Market loop. Head through Sevier Ave south waterfront to Baker Creek Trail you'll head up Redbud Crest to the Red Bud Bridge over to Marie Myers with Year Round Get Down. Hang a left after passing under the flyover to head to the top and come back down over the flyover to some rocky downhill and then follow the signs to Ijams/Meads Quarry. Cross over Sevier Ave and hang a left on to Turnbuckle and a left at the first fork in the trail to climb up the ridges. After head down the flow trail or gravel back to the parking lot at Meads Quarry. Cross over Island Home and hang a right on to Will Skelton Greenway over to Forks of the River. Follow the green way for views of the sunflowers depending on the seasons and the Forks of the River views. At the end of the greenway hop on to Whaley Trail. Follow the South Loop signs to the gravel lot. Just before the Gravel lot hang a super sharp right back up West Perimeter and left back on Will Skelton Greenway. Stay on the greenway to go through Ijams where youll see Island Home Airport and more south waterfront views. You head through the Island Home neighborhood back down to Trailhead Beer Market with more Tennessee river views.

History & Background

Some older dirty south trails and newer baker creek trails. Historic Island Home Neighborhood. Meads Quarry now public for swimming but use to be a marble quarry. Some old cables are still on the trails.
