Need to Know

The trailhead is on K Street just behind the Scotts Valley High School. The official parking lot is on the right side of Glenwood Drive if you're driving north from Scotts Valley Drive.

It is best to use the parking lot because the neighbors in the residential area really don't like it if people park in front of their houses.

Description

Glenwood Open Preserve West opened the fall of 2018. The trail was created with five different loops. I mostly ride the perimeter counterclockwise, which is about 3 miles with 480 feet of elevation gain according to Strava. It is all singletrack with some wider sections and there are several switchbacks.

The trail is not very technical but provides a good workout with some nice smooth descending. There are only a couple of roots on the trail, but some sections are somewhat narrow.

Excellent trail for a hardtail or even a ridged plus tire bike.

Not the nicest trails I've ridden on; Few rocks/roots. Downhills are short but fun, climbs even shorter short. Not crowded at all. — 1h 48m
