A ridgetop trail under tree cover. The east half is mostly nice, level roller and the west half is a sustained slope.

Description

This fire road goes town toward peak or visa versa. Access from town at the east end is via a paved road climbing a bit to some oddly situated tennis courts.

There are a few intersections with other fire roads. Stay on the ridgetop to follow this one. The only potentially tricky choice is the easternmost fork headed toward town because it is not clear which stays on the ridgetop and no signs are apparent. Take a right to stay on Chicken Shack.

If you happen to go left and descend a bit before realizing you'rw off course, not to worry. Don't bother climbing back up. You'll come out in town via a steeper descent about two miles way from the base of Chicken Shack. More fun to do this and ride the road to wherever you need to go.
