Doubletrack follows stream bed to a concrete "bunker" (top of water pipeline?). Fun downhill but lots of rocks on trail.

Need to Know

Parking available at the trailhead. Motorized vehicles are allowed inside the gate all the way up to the fence blocking the mouth of the canyon. Trucks or other high-clearance vehicles recommended, as the access road is rocky and has washed out in spots.

Description

A vehicle access road takes riders to the mouth of a small canyon, which is fenced off to prohibit all motorized vehicles. From the canyon gate to the "bunker" is 1.63 miles. A doubletrack trail ascends the canyon. A few steeper grades may require dismount, but all are generally rideable.

A fair amount of brush grows in the center/sides of the trail, hiding a number of rocks that may pose a threat to tires and wheels. In the morning, the trail is mostly shaded, with parts of the trail being sunlit by about 9 AM. Upon reaching the bunker, a singletrack trail ascends further.
