Description
This trail starts from an offshoot of Bullard Canyon Road, which starts in downtown Lakeview. Start by ascending the gentle, wide gravel road; follow the signs for the trail or the Warner Mountain Gun Club range, located adjacent to the trailhead.
Upon reaching the trailhead, you'll start by climbing a bit more, ascending some gently sloping singletrack with occasional punchy but very rideable switchbacks. You're soon rewarded by the first descent and excellent views of the valley. After some twisty and fun descending, you'll hit another climb with similar variance and terrain to the first one. Finally, you'll crest the summit of the trail, where the line shifts toward the ridge of the canyon top, providing you with views of Lakeview to the west, Goose Lake to the southwest, and the road you ascended to the north. A series of twisty, fast turns take you down the mountain. The trail widens to a rough doubletrack with some loose rocky sections, but nothing too scary. Eventually, you're sent down a final steep chute to a narrow, steep exit to the street.
Formerly known as the Bullard Canyon Trail, Noni's Trail was named after Noni Vandenberg, who passed away in a vehicle collision while biking in 2016. The trail was one of Vandenberg's go-to rides and runs around Bullard Canyon, and her family is responsible for maintaining trail signage.
