Overview

A flatter alternative to the Southern Loop: Monarch/Rowleys Bay/Newport that keeps you close to the shore. Take note to step off your bike to access the shore viewpoints as well as when accessing any hikers-only trails to get to the shore.

Description

This loop is on my to-do list after having explored the Southern Loop: Monarch/Rowleys Bay/Newport. If there are any similarities to be shared with the Southern Loop, you'll find a smooth multi-user trail and take note that if the trail gets rocky/narrow it means you've stumbled mistakenly onto a hikers-only trail.

This loop generally runs north to south - doubling back on its self at times, and having separate paths north/south when possible.

There is a multi-use trail that splits off heading east to end at Lynd Point which I didn't map here but is an option for an additional out-and-back. Be sure that you are taking the multi-use trail since there are also hiker-only trails that follow the shore more closely from the south and north to Lynd Point.
