Description
To ride this as a downhill section, access it where it meets
Tim's Ridge. Pete's Gully meets
Tim's Ridge after
Tim's Ridge ducks under the powerlines and before it starts to climb the last few hills.
The trail is essentially one big switchback. Follow the trail until it curves and then starts down the gully and meets the BVHD Easement. There is one section where the trail goes over a rock and that is the most difficult part. The rest of the trail is easy to manage. There's a gate before the trail meets back up with the easement. Be careful and don't slide out on the section below the gate. The trail becomes gravel around a curve in this lower section.
This trail is also a good option if you like the technical lower section of
Tim's Ridge but don't want to mess with the steep and straight upper section. You can also cut out a significant amount of peddling if you want to use this trail to access the other trails. It serves as a good option as it shortcuts a bit of
Tim's Ridge. To peddle this section go past the
Tim's Ridge turn off and follow signs for Pete's Gully near the old hay bales. If you hit
Grand Canyon or
Quick Gully, you've gone too far.
