Description

This trail begins at the parking area where Marriottsville Road crosses the south fork of the Patapsco, following the railroad for a short stretch of flat, easy trail. After about a third of a mile, the trail cuts into the forest and up into the ridge, and it doesn't get any easier from here. The path alternates from climbing and descending stretches along the ridge as it roughly follows the river southeast with numerous small stream crossings.

While this trail makes for a difficult 6+ miles of out and back, it is an excellent backbone trail for the network of trails in the Drivers Road area, particularly those that cross through the reforestation area.
