Description
Solstice was built to be a flow-style trail, mountain bike optimized for maximum playfulness and fun, with lots of twists, turns, jumps, and berms. It has the feel of a long, linear pump track. Approximately 1.3-mile in length, it has a fairly consistent 5% average downhill grade and starts at the
Little Rainbow Trail, just west of CR108. It runs downhill, basically parallel to CR108, to just above the old cemetery. It's meant to be ridden only in the direction as shown here—don't ride it uphill. Excellent finish to any ride in that area to roll back into town.
While specifically built for downhill fun on a mountain bike, please remember that you might run into the occasional hiker or runner going uphill, so be on the lookout and be courteous if you encounter any uphill users. Say hi, be nice.
Also try
Sol Train West and
Sol Train East, which start via
Sun Up, on the east side of CR108. Similar flavor, combine into a fun ride.
This trail is rated blue/black only because of the features built into the trail that could cause some problems for some.
The Solstice trail was designed and built by Singletrack Trails Inc., for Salida Mountain Trails.
