Need to Know
Many people park at Cox Park where there are restrooms and drinking fountains. There are places to eat off Oso and Crown Valley if you ride before meal time.
Description
Spitfire starts with a series of nice berms along the top of the bluff. At the end of the berm section, you can turn right and pedal back to the beginning if you want to session it. After the berms the trail turns into a real mountain bike trail.
The trail follows along the edge of the ridge and you keep your eyes focused and do your best not to shoot off the side. After you wrap around the ridge, you are greeted with 2-3 steeper sections that will test your braking ability. As of 2020, there is an easier ride around option for the second steep ( and often loose) section. After the last steep section you'll cross a short bridge.
After the bridge you enter the wooded section of the trail. Here, you'll narrowly miss a few trees as you fly down the trail. You'll be aided by several really nice berms. There are many finishing options for this trail. The most travelled ends with a nice 6-8 foot steep section that is easy to photograph.
