Need to Know

Winter parking is the Fishtail Inn bar and grill parking lot on County Highway EE. Stop in after your ride for a bite and a drink to show some love for the kind folks there allowing us a winter trailhead.

Description

The start/stop coordinates of this trail represent the winter access from the nearby bar. Loop can be ridden clockwise or counter-clockwise. It is a year-round trail, but will be closed to riding when wet or other conditions warrant.

Starting from the south and working clock-wise, the trail parallels the Niagara Escarpment which is the most prominent feature of the park. Cedar stands give way to ash with invasive buckthorn, an open patch of old oaks, and along the cliff toward the grassy old ski hill before turning back south and looping back parallel to the original path, sometimes nearing within a few feet of the northern track.

There are several hiking path intersections to be aware of that are signed and quite visible. A few small, short rock gardens provide interest to novice riders.
