Description

This trail is 35% hike a bike. There, I said it. Don't let this map fool you. The trail begins with great speed and flow that can get steep and exposed at times, but overall is a (blue) ride. Super fun... But THEN....you'll begin a brutal hike a bike section through some major wash-outs that are very steep in some areas and is approximately 1/3 of a mile. After you begin to descend back down after the brutal climb, the trail gets MUCH more technical and scouting most of the lines before attempting is highly advisable (double black section).

Before you know it, the trail becomes a fire road. Bummer. Once you hit the fire road ,keep an eye out for the singletrack to split off on the right hand side. After this short section of smooth singletrack you'll eventually hit a paved road (N Ontare Rd.) where you'll want to continue straight ahead. Continue down the paved road following the trail signs until you see the singletrack continue once again straight ahead that is marked "public trail" with a large sign. This is still the Arroyo Burro trail, but is unmarked. After one more creek crossing you'll connect in with the Jesusita Trailhead.

If you truly want a DH trail...ride Arroyo Burro BACKSIDE instead. Way more fun with no climbing.
